the line passes through (8,-3) and is parallel to the line whose equation is y=2x+3

y=2x+3  comparing this with equation y=mx+c we will get the slope of the line as m=2.Now we want to find the equation of a line parallel to the above line and passing through point (8,-3). As parallel lines have same slope therefore new line will also have slope =2.

So its equation in slope intercept form will be y=2x+c.

this line passes through (8,-3): put x=8 and y=-3

    -3=2*8+c

    -3=16 +c

   -3-16 = c

    -19 =c

threrfore equation of the line will be y=2x-19
