1. You have to get the fractions to have a common denominator, so you can add them together. The easiest way to find their equivalents is to multiple them by each other's current denominator.
2. (2/3) * 8 (for each, the numerator and denominator) = 16/24
3. (1/8) * 3 (for each, the numerator and denominator) = 3/24
4. (16/24) + (3/24) = (19/24) of an hour
5. (19/24) hour * 60 minutes per hour = 47.5 minutes
