Hebrew word for purple?
I'm trying to make a sign with lots of words for purple in different languages and would love to put Hebrew on it. Google tells me סָגוֹל is Hebrew for purple but I wanted to run it by actual humans. Is this correct? Is it a generic word or does it mean a certain shade? Is there anything else I should know about it to represent it correctly? (Ideally I'm looking for words for something like a true purple rather than violet or lavender.) Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!!

Yes, סגול is the word used when referring to purple. It's used to describe pretty much any shade of purple, but if you did want to specify a particular hue like lavender, you would use the Hebrew equivalent of the English, לבנדר. In general tho, stick with סגול.
