Hebrew word for purple?

I'm trying to make a sign with lots of words for purple in different languages and would love to put Hebrew on it. Google tells me סָגוֹל is Hebrew for purple but I wanted to run it by actual humans. Is this correct? Is it a generic word or does it mean a certain shade? Is there anything else I should know about it to represent it correctly? (Ideally I'm looking for words for something like a true purple rather than violet or lavender.) Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!!

Sa'gol (סגול) means purple, not any shade of purple. Good luck with your sign!
