What is the difference between component and group in SketchUp?

Componets in sketchUp are the must important tool in this program. Anything can become a component including groups. The idea is if you make something a component and duplicate that object multiple times, you can change all the components in your model just by changing one. There are a lot of repetition in architecture, things like windows, doors, cabinet hardware, etc. It's important to use components because it will speed up completion of your model.
