Hi, I'm Tom.
Since it's best to demonstrate how to do things in SketchUp rather than just type an answer I made a video using the Wyzant tutoring interface. Unfortunately, the video isn't the best quality, but it is the best that Wyzant would allow me to record; believe me, I remade the recording several times and this one was the best. (However If I could upload a video, that video's quality would be much better, more smooth and clear and less jumpy.)
To summarize the video, first you create a cube and then do two rotations on that cube to get it perfectly balanced on its corner. The first rotation rotates the cube 45º so that one of its edges is vertically above the lower edge. Then orbit the model and do another rotation (~35.264º) so the opposite corner of the cube is on the blue axis.
Again, a good video is worth a million typed words. And I apologize for the attached video not being of better quality, but its the best I can do. In my SketchUp lessons this isn't a problem. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Good luck.
