Modern Hebrew for English Speakers
The common modern spelling of Aaron is אהרון pronounced ahaRON
The dots and dashes that you see with the word are the vowels/pronunciation markers for the word. They would rarely be written with the name. Really just in children's books or in the Bible. Also when the marks appear with the word, it may be written without the second to last letter, (like this: אַהֲרֹן ) since the second to last letter is really just a vowel that can be shown with a dot instead.
The thickness of the last letter would just have to do with the font style.
