What is a typical term of endearment used between men?

In Australia we just use "mate". Is there a typical, non-sexual, term you would use, as a man, to display affection for another man? Or is it atypical behaviour in Israel?

Hi. There are a few of those equivalents to "hey, mate" in Israeli Hebrew: these are very typical -

אָחִי literally, my brother

יְדִידִי my pal

גַבֵר guy
