Hello Yamelin,
We know the number of runs is 949 and the mean with the range which is 811.3 +/- 73.7.
From this, we see the range is 737.6 to 885.
With this information it would be usual for a team to score any number of runs within that range, but the Red Sox scored 949 which is not in the range, but is rather unusually higher than the range.
In conclusion, the Red Sox number of runs' is unusual because their number of runs doesn't fall in range of the mean with standard deviation, but is rather, much higher.
