I'm trying every step I was taught in the video for my homework assignment and i'm still not getting it correct with the video!

If a certain number is added to both the numerator and denominator of the fraction , the result is  . Find the number.

(9+x)/(5+x) = 7/3

3(9+x) = 7(x+5)

3x + 27 = 7x + 35

-8 = 4x

x=-2

Let x = the number you add to the numerator and denominator of 9/5 to get 7/3

(9+x)/(5+x) = 7/3

Cross multiply:

3(9 + x) = 7(5+x)

27 + 3x = 35 + 7x
