Help I cannot solve

Question

Find all values of a for which f(a) = g(a) + 1; 

f(x) = 4/x-3, g(x) = 10/x²+ x - 12

g(a) + 1 = 10/x^2 + x -11

4/(x - 3) = 10/(x^2 + x -11) (I think this is what you mean...)

(x^2 + x -11)4 = 10 (x - 3)

4x^2 + 4x - 44 = 10x - 30

4x^2 - 6x -14 = 0

x = 2.8

x = -1.3

These are rounded. I used the quadratic equation.
