I assume you mean "each" rather than "eat"?  I assume the price you list, 2.79 is the 10% off price?  

 

If above true, then, 5 x 2.79 = 13.95

 

13.95 X 1.07 = 14.93  Total cost with the tax.

 

If the price of 2.79 was a 10% discount, then it is 90% of the non-sale price:

 

.90 x = 2.79

 

x = 3.10

 

So if you bought 5 at 3.10, that would be 15.50.

 

15.50 x 1.07 = 16.59 That's what you would have paid.

 

The difference is 16.59 - 14.93 = 1.66 savings.
