PQ =2z and that is half the length of PR

 

PR = 8z - 12

 

PQ = (1/2)(8z - 12)

 

2z = 4z - 6

 

6 = 2z

 

3 = z

 

so PQ = 2z = 2(3) = 6

 

PQ = 6

 

PR = 8(3) -12 = 24 -12 = 12

 

PR =12
