If you need to recognize the multiples of six quickly, here's an easy trick:
6  = 2 * 3
So any number divisible by 6 must be divided by both 2 and 3. Numbers divisible by 2 are always even numbers, recognizable because they end in an even:
{0,2,4,6,8}
Numbers divisible by 3? Here's a sneaky trick: Add up the digits of the number. If your result is divisible by 3, so is the original number. Some examples follow:
213  => 2+1+3 = 6   and 6/3 = 2, so 213 i divisible by 3.
389  => 3+8+9 = 20, and 20 is NOT divisible by 3, so neither is 389. This works no matter how long the number is!
Look at one of the numbers on Carol's list, like 54. It ends in 4, so it's even.
5 + 4 = 9 and 9/3 = 3, so 3 works also. Therefore, 54 can be divided by 6.
