Which has more thermal energy? 10 g of ice or 10 g of water? Explain.

If you have 2 samples of equal mass of the same substance, the one with higher temperature has more thermal energy.  In this question, you have 2 samples of water of equal mass, one frozen and the other liquid.  Assume the liquid water is warmer than the frozen ice, and therefore contains more thermal energy.
