We do not have the picture showing what the orange man is doing, but the TOTAL force required is
F = ma = (200 kg)(5 m/s2) = 1000 N

Mark,
I assume there is a picture showing a known applied force, and an orange man applying an unknown force, with the net force having to come out to 1000 N. Then we can subtract the other applied force to get the force applied by the orange man. But since we do not have the picture, all we can tell the student is what the total force must be.
