There are two endpoints that form a line, (x1,y1) and (x2,y2). The x-coordinate of the midpoint is the average of the two x-coordinates of the endpoints, or ((x1+x2)/2). The same concept is applied to the y-coordinates.
Thus the midpoint in general form is: ((x1+x2)/2,(y1+y2)/2)
