Hello, I would like to mix sand with bark for my plants. each container needs 40% sand and the rest bark. How many parts of each would I need? Thanks

Some of my containers may only need 30% sand and the rest bark. For every container How many parts of each would I need?

30% = 0.3 and 100% - 30% = 70% = 0.7

40% = 0.4 and 100% - 40% = 60% = 0.6

 

So for the container than need 30% sand, you multiply the amount of sand you have by 0.3

Then you multiply the amount of bark you have by 0.7

 

For the containers that need 40% sand, you multiply the amount of sand yo have by 0.4

and the amount of bark you have by 0.6
