write the equation of the line that passes through (3,-2) and has a slope of 4 in point-slope form

I don’t understand point-slope formula and how it correlates with the equation of the line

Also, if your real question was asking how does point slope relate to slope intercept form then it is just a little manipulation of the forms.
 
Start with point-slope:
 
(y-y1) = m (x-x1)
 
Plug in your values:
 
y-(-2) = 4 (x-3)
 
Distribute:
 
y+2 = 4x - 12
 
Subtract:
 
y = 4x - 14
 
So...
 
y = 4x -14 represents the same line as y-(-2) = 4(x-3)
