A store mixes Kenyan coffee worth $12 per kg and Turkish coffee worth $16 per kg. the mixture is to sell for $13 per kg. Find how much of each should be used to make a 180kg mixture

Also and as an addition, it can be solved following the steps:

X + Y = 180            X= Kenyan Coffee  Y = Turkish Coffee

12X + 16Y = 180*13

to eliminate X multiply by -12 the first equation and add to the second to obtain:

-12X - 12Y = -12*180

adding to the second equation we obtain

4Y = 180(13-12)=180

Y= 45 kg of Turkish Coffee

180-45 = 135 kg of Kenyan Coffee
