If f(x)=2x squared - x, what is f(-6)?

I don't understand this problem and I need help with it.

f(x) = 2x² - x

 

The notation f(-6) means f(x=-6).  So just set x = -6:

 

f(-6) = 2(-6)² - (-6) = 2(36) + 6 = 72 + 6 = 78
