My test is tommrow and I really need some help

aiden is 6 years less then half of Maggie's age . aiden is four, how old is maggie

Let A = Aiden's age, Let M = Maggie's age

 

Given: A = ¹/₂ M - 6, A = 4

Substitute second equation with the first equation

4 = ¹/₂ M - 6
