MgO is Mg2+ and O2- TWO attracting TWO charges...
KF is K+ and F- ONE attracting ONE charges...
MgO requires more energy (electrical energy) to separate it
into its composing elements, Mg and O2, than KF to K and F2.
Check them out!!!
There are a lot of Mg2+ in the sea water but it costs a lot
of energy (electricity or otherwise) to change it to Mg metal.
