Simplyfying radicals

Hi , I need help simplifying: 

 

(³√-8 +1) ² — ( ³√8 +1) 

 

** Under the radical its only -8, +1 is separate. The same for the one its only 8 under the radical.

³√-8 = -2

³√8 = 2

(-2 + 1)² - (2 + 1)

(-1)² - (3)

1 - 3

- 2

Here is a hint: 

 

-8 and 8 are perfect cubes of some number.  What is that number?  Once you've figured that out, you can simplify.
