Hi Super, to solve for "y", you need to isolate the "y" on one side of the equal sign, and everything else on the other side of the equal sign.
Step 1: divide both sides of the equation by w. This eliminates the "w" on the right side of the equation. The result:
z/w = x + y/3
Step 2: subtract x from both sides of the equation. The result:
z/w - x = y/3
Step 3: multiply both sides of the equation by 3. This will isolate the y on one side and everything else on the left side of the equation:
3( z/w - x) = y
The solution is: y = 3( z/w - x)
