Day Care operates from Monday- Friday. It has fixed expenses of $18,000 per week and charges each child who attends $300 per week. It cost the center $30 per week per child for supplies and snacks for each child.

fixed expenses per week = $18,000

expenses for supplies per child per week=$30

let us assume there are x children attending the day care in a certain week.

Hence the expense for x children in that week will be = $30x

Total expense for that week will be =$(18,000+30x)

To break even the total cost must match total earning of $300x as the day care charges $300 per children per week

hence, 300x= 18000+30x

=>270x=18000.... Subtracting 30x from both sides

=>x=18000/270 .... dividing both sides by 270 

=>x≈66.67 >66 as number of children can never be a fraction or mixed fraction and must be a whole number/ integer and x being greater than 66 the number of children attending the day care must be at least 67.
