An extraneous solution is a slolution to the equation that does NOT work when you plug it into the equation.
8x+4-10=-3 so 8x -6 = -3 and therefore 8x = 3 then x = 3/8.
Now pllug 3/8 into the equation for x and we get 8(3/8) + 4 -10 = -3 or 3 +4 -10 = -3 which is true so there is NO extraneous solution.
