Hey all. My name is Michael, welcome to my profile! I am a dedicated nurse tutor and practicing ER nurse with a deep passion for helping students succeed in every stage of their nursing journey. I earned my BSN with honors from Utica University and have gained diverse clinical experience in cardiac-stroke step-down, home health, rehab and emergency medicine. In addition to my clinical experience, I have worked as a nursing instructor aide at a large technical college, tutoring nursing students on a variety of complex nursing concepts. I am also currently advancing my practice by pursuing my Family Nurse Practitioner graduate degree at Duke University.

Over the last four years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching nursing students and onboarding new-hire nurses in clinical settings. Teaching and mentoring students has always been among the most rewarding parts of my career. In the classroom and at the bedside, I’ve learned that students thrive when they feel supported, heard and guided at a pace that fits their individual learning style. My tutoring approach is fully student-focused. During sessions, I often begin by asking students what they feel unsure about and then build a customized plan around those areas. For example, I once worked with a student who struggled with cardiac rhythm interpretation until we broke it down using live whiteboard visuals and rhythm-mapping exercises. Within a few sessions, she was leading the explanation back to me!

Whether I’m guiding you through difficult nursing concepts, supporting your NCLEX prep or helping you strengthen your foundation in Anatomy & Physiology and Pathophysiology, my goal is always the same, to make learning clear, engaging, and manageable. I believe that tutoring should be interactive, judgment-free, and tailored to what you need most.
