Test Prep, Math, and Chess Tutor

Hi, I'm Ethan, an undergraduate student at Northwestern University. I started playing chess when I was in 3rd grade. In the course of my chess career, I've won 7 state championships, ranked as the #80 U18 player in the US, and played for the Northwestern University A Team. I'm currently rated 2000 under USCF and 1900 under FIDE. I've been coaching for the past 7 years, working with both young students (ages 5+) and adults of varying skill. I try to focus my lessons on the specific aspects of chess where the student needs help, thus assisting them in their growth as a chess player, while being a fun and patient teacher in the process.

I also have experience helping students with test prep, as well as math (up to AP Calculus BC/Calculus 2). I scored a 36 composite on the ACT, 1550 on the SAT, and 337 (with a 5.5 in Analytical Writing) on the GRE, as well as scoring 5's on over 10 AP exams. I also have 5 years of experience tutoring elementary through high school students with various levels of math skills and classes!
