About Gregory

I am a secondary school educator in Math and Science at a grade 7-12 school. I have experience working with students in a group and individual setting. I've earned degrees in Geology and Geography from the University of Oregon. I can help out with homework or test preparation. I try to implement a gradual release model in my tutoring approach. I can show you how to do some problems and then we'll do some of the problems together. The ultimate goal will be to have you able to do the problems on your own.

If you have further questions about me please let me know. I'll do whatever it takes to help you out in the subject of your choice.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Chess

I frequently play chess with my friends. I have entered local chess tournaments, and have read numerous books on the topic.

Microsoft Outlook

As part of my job as a full time teacher I am required to use Outlook. I use this to email parents, and set up my daily calendar. In addition at home I have set up multiple accounts so I can download emails.

Very helpful and clear

We went over my geology HW and Greg helped me step by step with clear instructions. I left the lesson a lot more knowledgeable on geologic maps.
