Hi! I’m MiKayla, and I used to feel completely lost in math—until one day, someone explained it in a way that actually made sense to me. That moment flipped a switch, and it’s why I became a tutor. Hi! I’m MiKayla, and I used to feel completely lost in math—until one day, someone explained it in a way that actually made sense to me. That moment flipped a switch, and it’s why I became a tutor. It led me to pursue a degree in engineering based on my love for math, maintain a 4.0 GPA through high school and college, and score a 1560/1600 on the SAT. I know how frustrating it is when math feels like a foreign language, and I love helping students discover that they’re more capable than they think.
What makes my tutoring different is that I never use a one-size-fits-all approach. I create a custom plan for each student, based on how they learn best. Some students need visual explanations, others thrive with real-world examples, and some just need someone patient to walk through problems step-by-step. I take time to understand each student’s strengths, gaps, and learning style—and then build from there. Whether we're boosting grades, rebuilding confidence, or preparing for a test, every session is tailored to the student’s needs.
I've worked with students from elementary through high school, both online and in person. I’ve supported students with ADHD, learning anxiety, and those who’ve been told they’re “just not a math person.” My sessions are judgment-free zones where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.
If you're looking for someone who gets where you’re coming from—and will meet you where you are—I’d love to help.
