Hello prospective students and parents,

My name is Rochelle.

I obtained my Juris Doctor degree from Western State University in Irvine, California. I also obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science from University of Southern California.

I decided to depart from my legal career so I can have a better work-life balance and pursue my passion in teaching and mentoring students.

I presently work with elementary students in the Corona-Norco Unified School District and I own and operate a learning center in Eastvale, California. This July, I will be relocating to Frisco, Texas and will continue to tutor there; looking forward to meet and to inspire new students.

Since my undergraduate days at U.S.C., I volunteered in tutoring children who were struggling in elementary school. I always find that these children are intelligent but just need someone who is patient and need that "push" that encourages them to believe in themselves and their talents.

I genuinely enjoy working with young students and get excited when they "get it" and find learning fun.

Additionally, I relish in being able to teach and coach students in SAT Reading and Writing. I am very familiar with the redesigned SAT. Presently, I am employed by ETS as a Constructed Response SAT Rater for the Essay portion.

Teaching and mentoring high school students to do well on their SAT are challenging tasks. However, with proper planning, time management, and dedication from my students, success on these SAT sections is very realistic and attainable! I teach and provide students with a straightforward and effective strategy for Reading and Essay Writing that is simple and methodological.

Please feel free to contact me. I am looking forward to hear from you!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

CBEST

I am qualified to tutor for the CBEST because I earned my Juris Doctorate degree from Western State College of Law and I have a B.A. degree in Communications and Political Science from University of Southern California. Currently, I have numerous contract jobs where I am constantly writing and drafting contracts for telecommunications carriers and their clients.

College Counseling

I believe I am qualified to provide counseling for college admissions because I obtained my Juris Doctorate degree from Western State College of Law. I also obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science from U.S.C.

When I was a junior in high school, through the help of my career guidance counselor, I obtained valuable experience in what exactly college admission officers are looking.

While a student at U.S.C., I worked for the Admissions Center at USC Law School and learned from the admission officers themselves what they perceived an ideal candidate would be.

Elementary (K-6th)

I believe I am qualified to tutor in English, Writing, and Reading.

I obtained my Juris Doctorate degree from Western State College of Law. I also obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science from University of Southern California. I decided to put my career on hold so I may be a full-time mother for my two young children.

I presently tutor students in third grade in the Corona/Norco Unified School District.

I genuinely enjoy working with young students and get excited when they "get it" and find learning fun.

SAT Reading

I am qualified to teach and tutor SAT Reading because I have a law degree from Western State University College of Law. By nature, I am an analytical reader and enjoy reading in a critical manner. My tutoring session in the area of SAT Reading will provide a student with a unique and effective method for answering the questions on the Reading Passages section of the SAT. I will also teach my student simple and effective strategies for tough vocabulary-based questions.

SAT Writing

I am qualified to teach SAT Writing and SAT Essay because of my educational background, legal experience, and SAT tutoring experience. I will provide my student with a precise and targeted approach to the Grammar rules tested on SAT Writing.

For the Essay section of the SAT, my student will thoroughly learn an easy, step-by step method for writing a well-organized, high-scoring essay. *Remember: the neatness of your handwriting counts!

Study Skills

Hello,

I believe I am very qualified to tutor students in Study Skills.

I obtained my B.A. degree at University of Southern California. I also graduated from law school and obtained my J.D. degree.

During college and law school, I worked part-time. I understand that time management and organization of priorities are essential in doing well in your academic life and career life.

I look forward to tutor students in this area because it is an important skill to acquire.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Rochelle M.

Helped me tremendously

Rochelle has helped me tremendously with my college applications, especially with the required essays. Since writing is my weakest subject, it was difficult for me to eloquently demonstrate what kind of person I am and what I value through my essays. By proofreading my essays and providing me with advice on how to improve them, Rochelle made this easier for me. With her help, I got accepted to a v
