Hi, I’m Elaina, a medical school student! I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, with minors in Psychology and Occupational Safety and Health. I’ve won awards for my writing and academic performance, and spoken at several high schools on student success and time management. I maintained a 4.0 GPA through my undergraduate studies while also making time for the things I enjoy- and I can help you do the same!
I’ve been tutoring for over six years in a variety of subjects, working with high schoolers and college students online and in person. From how to succeed and thrive in college to surviving biochemistry, I’ve equipped my students with tools they can apply to their current and future studies. I’ve also worked with students who struggle with ADHD, dyslexia/dyscalculia, anxiety, and have issues with executive functioning.
I focus on adapting study strategies and information to suit a student’s personal learning style better. I do my best to accommodate any learning difficulties, as well as reframe concepts for clearer comprehension. This may look like utilizing diagrams and models for visual learners, or utilizing more relevant examples to increase understanding and connection to the material. I also teach strategies to better remember material, execute concepts, and succeed on exams.
I am currently offering services for the following subjects at the high school and undergraduate level: Biology 1 & 2, Anatomy, General Chemistry 1 & 2, Biochemistry 1 & 2, Writing, Essay Proofreading (including college, medical school, and scholarship application essays), Personal Statements, and Study Skills (tests, strategies, time management, and other success tools).
My rate varies depending on the subject, and I do have a 24-hour cancellation/rescheduling policy. No-shows or failure to cancel/reschedule within the 24-hour window will be charged half the established lesson cost. If I sound like a good fit for you, please reach out, and we can discuss your needs and concerns!
