I have extensive experience in all levels of Spanish, with eight years in two private High Schools, teaching Spanish 1-4, AP and Dual Credit. As an Adjunct Professor at Texas Wesleyan University, I taught three levels of Spanish. My academic credentials include a Master of Arts degree in National Security Affairs / Latin America Studies from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and graduation with honors in Spanish at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. I have extensive experience in all levels of Spanish, with eight years in two private High Schools, teaching Spanish 1-4, AP and Dual Credit. My academic credentials include a Master of Arts degree in National Security Affairs / Latin America Studies from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School and graduation with honors in Spanish at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA. In order to further my Spanish proficiency, I attended the Don Quixote Institute of Languages Superintensivo Program in Guanajuato, Mexico.

My strong passion for teaching Spanish to all age groups has resulted in my integrating multiple complementary techniques to reach the student. Through incorporating a wide variety of materials to aid in the learning process, I make learning a foreign language less intimidating. I want my students to have both a solid foundation and the comfort to enjoy Spanish.

Later I attended the Don Quixote Institute of Languages, Guanajuato, Mexico, attaining "advanced C1" level in their superintensivo course. My teaching style includes a mix of technical grammar comprehension and immersion drills. Cynthia is always prepared with great material and we start each lesson with conversation. I’ve learned tons and the lessons make it so much easier and a lot more fun to learn Spanish than on my own. She has great suggestions to improve Spanish like watching Spanish shows on Netflix. It’s great how she helps me fill in the blanks during conversation and help me learn how to say what I’m thinking of in Spanish. Really fun and enjoyable lessons , looking forward to learning more next week :)

First Session was successful!!

I have only known Cynthia for one session. She was knowledgeable on the subject. She was able to teach me a bit and most importantly we got some work done. I plan to continue working with Ms Cynthia for the month. I look forward to providing a final review regarding the total value of her assistance. We have a bit more to go and time will tell, but so far I do not see a reason to find another tutor this time.
