My style of tutoring is catered to each of my students’ career goals, majors and interests. I seek to make the tutoring session entertaining and interesting.

Little bit about myself:
I am currently a Machine Learning & Analytics Engineer with prior experience at Arkysis & Boeing for Simulations Engineering. At Texas A&M, I worked for the Neuroergonomics lab as a Junior Data Engineer, the Math department as a Teaching assistant and grader, Aerospace Engineering Department as a grader, and Academic Success Center as a tutor.

I have over four years of experience tutoring at both college and high school level Maths. I take an especial liking to Calculus, Differential Equations and Partial Differential Equations, given my academic history as an aerospace engineering student I am very much familiar with the subject as I have to work with it quite often. I seek to create a meaningful relationship with my students, where they have a resource that they can use to help them succeed. I am familiar with the importance of academic success, I seek to help my students achieve the same academic success I had in engineering by sharing my experiences and knowledge. My tutoring goes beyond the realm of just course assistance, but also academic mentoring and career mentoring.

Calculus 2 TA and grader at Texas A&M - 2 years experience
Calculus 1 & Precalculus small group Tutor at Texas A&M - 1 year experience (3 semesters)
SAT and AP math tutor for Education Shoppe Tutoring - 1 year experience
Chegg Expert for Calculus and Physics - 1 year experience

Guys, I get it! Math is tough, I’ve been there. Please feel free to contact me and share your questions.

Data Science

As a Data Science tutor for Wyzant, I bring a wealth of professional experience in developing and implementing data solutions in a variety of settings. At Arkisys, I honed my skills in developing machine learning algorithms as a Simulations Engineer. My experience in characterizing LiDAR sensors behavior for sensor verification during rendezvous protocols has given me a strong foundation in applying data science techniques to real-world problems. At Boeing, I was responsible for developing a full-scale data architecture for simulation data generated. I effectively managed the full ETL pipeline and cloud architecture, showcasing my ability to handle large and complex data sets. As an Analytics Engineer at Loopback Analytics, I leverage cutting-edge technologies such as pySpark and Databricks to develop data solutions within our Azure architecture. My primary focus is on Data Migration and scaling ETL pipelines, which requires a deep understanding of data science concepts and the ability to effectively communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. With my extensive experience in data science and technology, I am confident that I can help students gain a deep understanding of the subject and develop the skills they need to succeed in this exciting field.

With a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M, where I specialized in computational thermofluids, I bring a strong foundation in physics and engineering to my role as a tutor. My passion for physics and education, combined with my professional experiences, make me an ideal tutor for those looking to understand and succeed in this subject. As a Simulations Engineer at Arkisys, I had the opportunity to put my knowledge of astrophysics, orbital dynamics, and rotational dynamics to the test. I developed a LiDAR characterization algorithm that required a deep understanding of these concepts and allowed me to contribute to the company's efforts in satellite infrastructure. At Boeing, I specialized in developing simulations for a hypersonic Thermal Protection System (TPS) using the Finite Difference Method. This requires a deep knowledge of aerodynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics, all areas in which I have extensive experience. In addition to my work as a Simulations Engineer, my experience as an Analytics Engineer at Loopback Analytics has given me a strong background in computer science and data analytics. I have leveraged cutting-edge technologies like pySpark and Databricks to develop data solutions from our Azure architecture, and I have a primary focus on data migration and scaling ETL pipelines. Finally, my time as a Junior Data Engineer at the Texas A&M Neuroergonomics Laboratory gave me the opportunity to specialize in computational neuroscience and develop data processing pipelines. This experience has allowed me to bring a unique perspective to my tutoring, incorporating my background in both engineering and computer science. Great Teacher

Makes everything so easy to understand, writes out every problem step by step, and then explains why the answer is the way it is. Carlos is the only reason I understand Calc. 1 right now! Highly recommend!!!

Knowledgeable and likable Tutor

Carlos really knows his stuff and will work hard to accommodate you. He is a very nice and fun guy which helps the sessions not only feel fresh but he helps you learn in a constructive way. He is also very knowledgeable in math so any formula you need to use he can break it down really well for you so you can better understand it. I would recommend him to anyone taking math and physics who needs some help!

Excellent Tutor!!

My daughter just finished her second session with Carlos to help her prepare for an advanced honors, pre-calculus exam. Carlos is an amazing tutor!! I feel so lucky that we found him. Not only can he do the very challenging problems, he knows how to explain them in a way that makes sense to my daughter. She has found him to be very relatable. Carlos takes time to prepare for the sessions by reviewing the topics and begins the appointments ready to jump right into the explanations. We could not be happier and plan to continue to work with him on a regular basis. I highly recommend Carlos to anyone looking for a math tutor.
