My name is CathyAnn and I am originally from Dallas, Texas. I have been living in France for the last 8 years and have recently moved back to Austin. In France I was teaching ESL and have taught all age levels from young children up to business English for adults. I would be very happy to continue teaching ESL.
Also, I am conversationally fluent in French and would like to tutor French, especially for students wanting to improve their conversation skills. I have passed the certification test in Texas for French 6-12 and taught 8th graders a high school level French class in Klein ISD for the 2010-2011 school year. In addition, I can share my knowledge of France and the French culture from firsthand experience.
For students who are interested in supplementing their lesson with language learning on the computer, I have a very efficient language program on my computer that could complement the lesson.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions that you may have. I look forward to hearing from you. My name is CathyAnn and I am originally from Dallas, Texas. Cathy Ann has been a wonderful tutor and has helped my son so much with his 8th Grade French. She created additional exercises, advised on practice material on the web, and is very patient and kind. My son was falling very behind, but with Cathy Ann's patience and assistance he actually is liking French and is feeling much more confident and the teacher has let me know he is participating a lot more. This has been a wonderful experience for us.
Patient and knowledgeable! She makes the class fun. Also. She gives you lots of video clips on YouTube and other websites to continue learning off class.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
