Hello there!
My name is Cara and I can't wait to get to know you. Here's some background information about me: I graduated cum laude in 2019 with a Bachelors in Sociology and concentrations in Human Development and Anthropology. That means I know a lot about how people work, particularly children. I use that expertise everyday with the students that I tutor. In addition to my collegiate experience, I also have taken and passed the Middle School Social Studies Praxis exam as well as the Elementary Education Praxis exam which proves my knowledge of those content areas.
I have been a tutor for the last four years, so I feel I've really gotten into the groove of tutoring and really enjoy the one-on-one experience. In that time, I've worked with students in grades K-8 in all four of the core subjects. I have also been a substitute teacher for about a year now, and cherish opportunities to work with groups of students. Likewise, I spent a summer teaching virtual reading classes which has given me some expertise in working with students in a digital classroom setting. Each of these positions has taught me how important it is to approach children with empathy, kindness, and warmth. I want to see your child succeed, and I understand that they are most able to do that when they feel safe and secure with the educators in their lives.
