Effective Math Tutor Specializing in High School Math and Statistics

My name is Robert and I am a National Board certified math teacher in North Carolina with 20 years of teaching experience at the high school level. I have a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Western Michigan University with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Physics.

My approach for tutoring is completely dependent on the student, however, what works best for most students is assistance with homework and extra practice preparing for tests. So I value seeing students work so I can guide them on how to navigate through their mistakes and practice doing the math correctly. In addition, I like to model good work for my students, so they can expect me to show thorough steps and explanations while working out problems. While my experience is with teaching high school, I have provided tutoring for 7th grade students through college aged students, both in person and remotely via online video platforms.

My specialty in tutoring is Statistics (regular, AP, and introductory college level), Geometry, and Algebra. I currently teach integrated math courses at my school that incorporate functions, algebra, geometry, and statistics into their curriculum. I am also in my 6th year of teaching AP Statistics. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Statistics and AP Statistics, NC Math 2, NC Math 3, Advanced Functions and Modeling (which is now called NC Math 4).
