Please note that if your child is in honors, I might not be the best fit. I tend to work best with high school students or adults who normally struggle with math, but are self motivated & really want to learn. To make the most out of tutoring, you should be prepared to show me the type of problems you need help with.
I do not use instant book since it charges you immediately and sometimes students do not use the entire hour. You only pay for the time you use and it can be less than an hour. Thank you for this opportunity to help!

I have helped many students prepare for the math portion of the Accuplacer test. I would first suggest that you do the practice problems so that I can see what skills we need to work on. Getting tutoring will help your math placement and therefore will save you time and money. Tutoring is my main income and I fully devoted to helping you !
ACT Math

ACT Math

I love how excited parents & students are when their scores improve after tutoring. This math test is a skill driven test whereas the SAT test is more problem solving. The ACT includes a science section. My advise is to only use the official ACT practice book. The other practice books cannot plagiarize the test and do not read like the test. Also, to go to the official ACT website listed as actstudent asap and have your student go to the test prep section and try and complete the 5 modules for the math section. Contact me and I can give you any other information that I have gathered on this new test. I believe one on one tutoring far exceeds the big expensive ACT classes. With your student's effort and my guidance, he or she will improve their score as well as help their math foundation for current and future math classes.

Also the only way to get strong in Algebra is if you ask me for more problems to try that are like the ones that you previously had trouble with.
ASVAB

If needed I can try to help with the non math sections. Please note that I best qualified to help with the Math reasoning and Arithmetic Reasoning sections of the ASVAB. My advice is to do as many math practice questions as you can before we meet so that I can see what you struggle most with. That way, I can see clearly from our first meeting how much work we need to do. Ask myself or your recruiter for the website or apps that will best help you prepare for the test. I am honored to help you on your journey to serve our country.

I am interested in helping students who are taking notes, trying their homework and care about learning. I enjoy the visual Geometry problems that involve algebra. Proofs are the other aspect of Geometry. They are also important, so I will help your student think logically so that they understand the order in which they need to order their proof statements.
Prealgebra

I have been teaching Pre-Algebra since 2000. Pre-Algebra is an important stepping stone to lay a solid foundation for the rest of your students mathematics. I know what is involved in Alg1, 2 and beyond so I teach Pre-Algebra with the future in mind so that they can make the future connections. Students need repetition so encourage your student to do as many different typed of problems for the same skill so that they can experience all the aspects of that skill. I would visit websites that have interactive games to reinforce skills. Upon our first contact I will give you the names of websites I recommend.
SAT Math

I love how excited parents and students are when their scores improve after tutoring. I taught a 9 week SAT math elective course in high school and have done much private tutoring with much success. The March 2024 New digital SAT is very different from previous tests. My advice is to only use the NEW official online Collegeboard tests which also give you the opportunity to download the software that you will need for the actual digital SAT test. Other companies try to make money by selling practice books, but only Collegeboard material reads like the actual test. I believe one on one tutoring far exceeds the big expensive SAT classes. With your student's effort and my guidance, you will both get your best score as well as help your math foundation for current and future math classes.
