Welcome. As a New York state-certified teacher of Physics and Mathematics, I have taught many different physical science and math courses to grades 7-12 as well as college since 2005. I currently teach introductory chemistry and physics at Iona University, where I also teach Regents and AP Physics and Regents Earth Science for the Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP). My content expertise also qualifies me to tutor comparable IB, non-Regents and GED subjects.

My teaching philosophy is to meet students where they are and build them up, which is especially important in 1:1 or small-group tutoring. I also emphasize learning general concepts before applying them to specific problems. I encourage students to ask questions at any stage of the process, whether that be identifying key words, visualizing the scenario, using the correct equation, or performing the correct operation to solve the problem. No question is too basic! Finally, I have students try similar problems until they feel comfortable completing them on their own.
