Choosing me as a math tutor means working with someone who understands mathematical concepts deeply and knows how to explain them clearly and patiently. As an Applied Mathematics major at Stony Brook University with a 3.55 GPA and multiple Dean’s List honors, I’ve excelled in courses such as probability theory, multivariable calculus, data analysis, graph theory, applied statistics, and mathematical analysis. My academic background is reinforced by my experience as a Teaching Assistant for a university-level probability course, where I led weekly problem-solving sessions for more than 120 students, guided them through difficult homework, and offered individualized support during office hours. These responsibilities helped me develop a teaching style focused on breaking down challenging ideas into simple, intuitive steps.

My dedication to teaching extends beyond formal coursework. As a member and peer coach on the Stony Brook Chess Team, I’ve led clinics and open-board sessions that strengthened students’ analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities—skills directly connected to success in math. Earlier, as a teaching assistant at Accelerate Academy, I supervised classrooms, prepared lesson materials, explained concepts daily, and helped students raise their diagnostic scores by about 15% over six weeks. These hands-on experiences taught me how to adapt to different learning styles and support students at all levels.

As a tutor, I aim to make math understandable and approachable. I focus on building strong fundamentals, strengthening problem-solving skills, and helping students gain confidence in their abilities. With clear communication, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for teaching math, I’m committed to helping every student I work with succeed.

Chess

I am a competitive chess player with a rapid rating above 2200 and years of consistent study across strategy, tactics, and endgame theory. I’ve coached beginners and intermediate players, helping them build strong fundamentals in openings, calculation, and positional understanding. My approach focuses on teaching students how to think through positions rather than memorizing lines, which builds long-term improvement. I also provide structured training plans, game analysis, and clear explanations tailored to each student’s level.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I’ve worked with a wide range of students on precalculus, from strengthening algebra basics to tackling trig, functions, and limits. I like breaking down big ideas into simple steps and showing the intuition behind the formulas so everything actually sticks. I’ve tutored this material for years, both formally and informally, and I’m super comfortable adjusting my approach depending on how you learn. My goal is always to make the math feel lighter, clearer, and way less stressful.
