Hi everybody!

My name is Philip, and I currently work as a research associate in the finance industry for a leading investment bank. I graduated from the University of Chicago with my Master of Science in Financial Mathematics. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and minored in education at Binghamton University. Thus, I am very passionate about math and finance and teaching it to others.

Math can be a daunting subject, but it is certainly achievable with the right help. As a teacher for elementary, JHS, and high school math at an academy, I have hands on experience with helping students achieve that nice grade they are striving for.

Additionally, I taught as a teacher's assistant at Binghamton University for Calculus 1 & 2. I've also studied most undergraduate level math courses including graduate level quantitative finance courses so I have a solid background of mathematics experience.

If you, or anyone you know needs help in any elementary, junior high, or high school math subject, including test prep, as well as applied finance courses (or exams like the CFA) please reach out to me. If you have any questions or inquiries don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks so much and I look forward to helping you!

Philip

Great Math SAT tutor!

Philip explained how to approach SAT Math problems. Gave me confidence for my upcoming SAT by reinforcing the most important concepts. I feel less anxious about taking the SAT now.

Good tutoring session

Philip was patient with my son, professional and able to break down the steps for him. My son is not the most engaged student but Philip was able to keep him engaged. Will likely schedule another session soon.

Patient, knowledgeable and perceptive tutor

Helped to summarize, review and clarify material prior to my midterm. Was very very patient when explaining topics I didn't understand, was excellent at quickly summarizing concepts I grasped, but needed to solidify.

Knowledgeable tutor

My daughter had one lesson with Philip and was pleased with his methods. Thought he was knowledgeable and clear in his explanations of the material and also just a personable guy. He came prepared and got to work right away with her. We will be seeing Philip again soon for future lessons

Geometry Review with Philip M. for upcoming regent

Philip helped me understand problems in geometry, what I thought was so hard Philip cleared up for me and now what seemed difficult is so easy. He gave me a good understanding of what I was doing and how to do it. He is patient and very knowledgeable. If you need a good tutor in Brooklyn look no further. I highly recommend him

Awesome!

Philip took the assignment right away and on that same day he traveled to my office to work with my 18 year old so he could prepare for his freshman college assessment test and my son thereafter took it and did very well. Philip was excellent.
