Hi, I'm Kelly! I'm a professional operatic and musical theater singer who loves to teach! For the past 5 years I have taught voice and piano in my private studio and as a member of the County College of Morris Voice Faculty. Some of my previously staged roles include Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Angelina (Trial by Jury), Le rossignol (L'enfant et les sortileges), Christine in the New Jersey collegiate premier of The Phantom of the Opera, Baby Doe (The Ballad of Baby Doe), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), Blondchen (Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail), Musetta (La Boheme), Lily (The Secret Garden), Cinderella (Into the Woods), Cosette (Les Miserables), and Cinderella (Cinderella) at theaters like Carnegie Hall, The Kimmel Center and NJ PAC. I attended NYU, earning a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance. Also, I hold a Master's Degree in Music with a specialty in Opera Performance from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and served as a resident artist for the International Vocal Arts Institute of NYC. Current member of: Pan-American Vocology Association (PAVA) & National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
I am passionate about connecting students to their own unique voice through discovering the relationship between the body, the brain, vocal discipline, and personal expression. I work on creating a resonant and freely produced sound throughout all the registers. My goal is to promote healthy vocal technique while having full engagement in a song. I believe that singing is about conveying your emotion, your engagement, and your character's situation to the audience. Once your voice is lined up with great technique, your true voice will begin to surface with an increased vocal range, resonance, and heightened flexibility. You will explore who YOU are as a singer and discover what repertoire works best for you. I'd love to hear more about your goals as a performer and how we can work together to help you achieve those goals!

Music History

As a part of my Master's Degree in Music from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, I was required to take an exam on the history of music and opera. Passing that exam was an integral part of my Lecture Recital, which had to include specific information on how my chosen piece (The Ballad of Baby Doe) fit into the history of opera performance. Music history was also an important part of my B.A at NYU, where I took courses in the history of music, and as a result I successfully tested out of a required music history course in my graduate study.

Awesome!

Kelly is amazing. I was nervous to start this whole process, since I had never sang before. If you are just starting out reach out to her! She made me feel so comfortable. I am so glad I found her!!
