I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at a small liberal arts college in the Northeast United States. I received my PhD in economics from Binghamton University, where I served as the principal instructor for intermediate microeconomic theory and environmental economics. In addition, I served as the TA for numerous courses in micro and macroeconomics, in addition to elective classes.

I have also tutored for hundreds of hour across different economic courses and topics. No matter the course or student, my goals for tutoring are always the same.
1. Identify conceptual weak-points (this includes math and working through problems).
2. Increasing knowledge of the concepts, and using specific problems to increase this knowledge and practice the math.
3. Connect concepts within and across classes so new material/review becomes easier.

I mainly tutor via Zoom. This includes using an iPad to generate notes (which I send following each session so you can review them) and any work-throughs of problems.

In addition to our meetings, I also have YouTube videos on economic content that students can access for free at any time. I will include the link before our first meeting, or you can search "In Case of Econ Struggles" to get a flavor for my teaching style.

Please note: I do not do work for my students. That includes any assignments or exams no matter what your professor's policy on outside help is. I will help you work through it and improve understanding, not be the person doing the work. I also do not make guarantees about grades on assignments or courses, I simply promise to improve your understanding of the material.

If my style of tutoring seems like it would be helpful for you, please reach out!

I look forward to working with you.

Econometrics

Econometrics

I have taken undergraduate econometrics and used the concepts from class to perform several written econometric analyses for other classes. I have used heteroskedasticity tests, statistical tests on coefficients, and empirical analysis strategies that involve instrumental variable regressions, random and fixed effects regressions, logit and probit models, as well as OLS regressions. I am versed in how to understand standard errors, evaluate when these standard errors may be invalid, and methods for reconciling invalid standard errors.
Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

I am an economics major at Hamilton College. My relevant coursework involves the following: Intro Micro and Macroeconomics; Micro and Macroeconomic Theory; Comparative Economic Systems; and Experimental Economics. And I have tutored in Intro micro, intro macro, and micro/macro economic theory courses to individuals and to small groups.

Proofreading

Hamilton College focuses on writing, and my writing has greatly improved thanks to numerous writing-intensive history classes. I can proofread for grammar, clarity, and conciseness.

The Best Econ tutor!

I've had 2 sessions with Case and he's helped me immensely. He explains his thought process along the way, which really helps when trying to understand the material that you are learning. He has solved some of the most challenging problems but has always had the best attitude; while being extremely accurate with his math problem-solving. I've received help with both micro and macro—Best tutor I've experienced on Wyzant, highly recommend.

Knowledgeable and helpful tutor

Case helped me learn how to use and understand Stata and work through my coursework requirements. He was very helpful, and thorough in his explanations of how things worked and how to interpret the data. It was very easy and unproblematic to schedule an appointment with Case, as he replies almost instantly.

Great

Case works hard to make time for his students, is knowledgable in what he's teaching, is patient and calm when working through challenges, and is laid back and fun. Great tutor would recommend.

Patient and Easily Understandable

STATA to me is like a terrifying foreign language, and Case truly assisted me in understanding it in a language that is familiar to me. It was very important to me that he did not assume I had any knowledge basis of STATA, and allowed me to work through the problem set in the way I perceived it, and correcting my perception so that I understood the problems in terms of STATA.

Very knowledgeable and professional tutor

Case took me through the ins and outs of basic Stata programming and helped me run a .do file for my class. He got right to the problem and assisted me in understanding Stata better.
