Hi! I'm Thahiya (thuh-hee-yuh)! I am a current senior at Barnard College, Columbia University and I've had immense experience tutoring students, whether it be neighborhood kids or underclassmen at my school. I specialize in subjects such as Common Core, Algebra, Geometry, General Science (including Biology and Chemistry), English, and History. I am very carefree and fun, and these traits are definitely reflected in my tutoring approach. In addition to introducing and explaining topics, I often create individualized study guides and Quizlets for my students, and regularly share helpful videos and presentations with them even when tutoring is not in session. Since I am a senior in college, I have a lot of free time on my hands and therefore, I can dedicate much of my time to tutoring and making sure students really understand the material I teach.
I've taught Algebra 1, Geometry, and Common Core Math to almost half a dozen students. Science is by far my best subject; I've taken courses such as Microbiology, Molecular & Mendelian Genetics, Developmental Biology, and Organic Chemistry. I am majoring in Biology in college, and I have also worked and conducted my own research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
