I am a dedicated tutor with a Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics and over twenty years of experience studying the language. As a native Spanish speaker of Puerto Rican descent, I bring both personal and academic expertise to my teaching. I have more than 10 years of experience teaching Spanish at both the high school and university levels and currently serve as a Lecturer of Spanish at Columbia University. Throughout my career, I have taught at prestigious institutions such as Princeton University, the University of Mount Saint Vincent, and the State University of New York at Albany. My passion for language extends beyond the classroom—I actively research, publish, and present my findings on Spanish linguistics at conferences around the world.
My areas of expertise include Spanish Grammar and Composition, Spanish Heritage studies, Caribbean Dialectology, Bilingualism, Spanish Phonology, Contact Linguistics, and Latin American and Caribbean Studies. I have extensive experience teaching Spanish at all levels, from beginner to advanced, as well as courses specifically designed for heritage and native speakers. Whether you need help with grammar, writing, speaking, or comprehension, I tailor my tutoring approach to meet your individual needs.
