I've been teaching English, Composition and Speech in high schools (inner city and suburban) and colleges for over twenty years and have developed a method to learn and remember the grammar rules you need to succeed in writing and speaking proper English. I have coached and taught professionals on the stage, in film, and in corporate and educational settings. I have earned several degrees in English and Education and attended a prestigious NYC professional acting school.

I tutor high school and college English Language and Theatre Arts, for which I am certified as a Language Arts Teacher, grades 6-12, in NY State and Illinois. I teach an-easy-to follow formula for how to write a five paragraph essay, and also work with grammar school-aged children, having taught K-6 grades throughout my career for extended periods of time as a long-time substitute and grades 5-8 for 3 years.

In my undergraduate degree I studied Film and Literature, and during my studies for my undergraduate degree in Theatre, I viewed, studied, commented upon, attended lectures and wrote papers on many films, including the recognized classics. During my Master's degree in English, I studied, attended lectures and wrote papers on many films in conjunction with many of the works of Literature and Theatre I studied. During my professional work as a theatrical director, producer and lighting and set designer, I researched many films to become more fully informed in these positions. For over 30 years I have attended so many films that it would not be a stretch to say that I have attained a significant classical background and knowledge of several major genres in film.

I attended The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in NY, NY where I studied acting from Sanford Meisner, one of the most influential Theatre teachers in American Theatre and his protege, William Esper, and later went on to study advanced acting with William Esper at his private studios in NYC. I obtained a Bachelors in Theatre from SUNY, Purchase, the legendary Theatre School of the SUNY system, where many shows that end up on Broadway are previewed at this school. I own and operate my own theatrical production company, Patron Saints Productions, where I have been producing, directing and designing/directing lights, sets and costumes in stage productions for the last twelve years. I have over thirty years of directing, performing and producing classical theatre in New York, New Mexico, Texas and Minnesota. I have written two plays, one with the same name and adapted from my novel, MONSTERS AND ANGELS, which I wrote with the support of the Playwrights Center of Minneapolis, a national theatre organization and resource for playwrights and theatre professionals in the United States, continue to work on the writing and technical aspects of its eventual production.

About fifty percent of the students I taught over the 20 years I was employed as a high school classroom English teacher for the NYC Board of Education had some form of ADHD ad I have many years of experience modifying my lesson plans to accomodate the learning styles of the ADHD. My elder daughter tested positive for ADHD, so I have personal experience with ADHD not only as a professional educator, but also as a parent. Frankly, ADHD was not part of the vocabulary when I was in high school, but I am almost certain that I would have been diagnosed with ADHD had it been when I was in school.

I started sewing when I was 8 years old, and attended 4-H for eight years as a child, where most of our curriculum was sewing and preparing for County Fairs, and where we would also show our creations at the 4-H Exhibit, as well as participate in the County Fair's Fashion Show modeling our creations. I have been sewing since then, so that would be about over 40 years of sewing! I have made many of my own clothes, along with my children's clothes, sewn curtains, pillows, and I can actually make my own patterns. I sewed my own wedding dress, which was from a designer pattern, and very beautiful if I say so myself! I also sewed my children's Baptismal garments, which were also created from designer patterns, and included the blanket, classic Baptismal dress and long slip, hat and coat. I sewed many years of my daughters' Easter and Christmas dresses, their Halloween costumes and their Confirmation dresses, etc. I continue to love sewing and am currently working on a Donna Koran Vogue Designer dress.

I am a College English Composition, Literature, Speech and Psychology Instructor and have been teaching on the college level for over seven years. Very Experienced Energetic Speech Tutor
