I began tutoring 15 years ago as a means of giving back to society. I taught Maths and Computer Science, to students with ages ranging between nine and fifteen. I am given to great pride when my students are able to understand concepts that seemed before to be so difficult and now they are able to see its simplicity. This was done through setting a good foundation and providing positive reinforcement.

I taught Technology at Paul Public Charter Middle School, in Washington DC. I also conducted afternoon classes in the aforementioned areas.

I stopped tutoring to pursue an opportunity as a Web Application Developer, for a government organization, however my heart still yearned for the satisfaction of helping students to be there best. My love for tutoring emanated from seeing the successes achieved by my son, through consistency and the following of a well-planned scheduled. When I saw the returns, I took note the techniques and I became encouraged to help other students to be successful in their studies as well.

The goal of each session is to ensure that each student is give the opportunity to thoroughly understand the foundations of each subject area and to systematically progress the developing child as learning becomes easier. Homework assignments were given to reinforced what was learnt. Test questions were also given to ensure that the foundation was well laid.

I am highly proficient in Mathematics and Technology related subject areas. Other subject areas of expertise is English, namely Study Skills, Grammar and Vocabulary.

I am generally available on evenings after 5:30 pm into the night, every day except on Fridays. Saturdays I am not available also until after 6:30pm. My base rate is $34/hour for online lessons.

I have attained my Bachelors Degree at in Computer Science at Andrews University (1995 - 1999) and my Masters Degree (2000 -2002) in Computer Science at Howard University. As an honours student and graduating with the second highest GPA from Howard University, hard-work and dedic

I enjoyed Algebra and Discrete Maths, since they dealt with solving mysteries and dealing with logic. I have taught reading for about 5 years. I have focused on syllables, comprehension, main ideas, cause and effect, expression and other techniques. I enjoyed seeing three finished product of a child who not only can read but understands what was read. While teaching for those 5 years, Phonics was also taught. I focused on vowel and consonant recognition and sounds, blends, rhyming words, decoding(syllables), phonetic games and other techniques. I then became a Homeschool Educator. I have taught in a Home school progam in Washington DC for 4 years working with K-6 graders in Mathematics, Phonics and Reading. During this period, I developed lesson plans for those subjects. Students' academic progress was constantly evaluated on a daily basis. Tests were administered and recorded. It is with great joy to see them master these subjects at their schools now.

Sign Language

Sign Language was another way of expressing oneself. I started about 14 years ago. I used a Sign Language book to learn signs for a song to perform at a wedding. Later, I enrolled my son in a Sign Language Group which also performs occasionally. As a result of carrying my son for practice, I had to learn the signs in order to teach him at home. Ultimately, the parents of each child was asked to join the group. So now I am part of the group learning the signs for each song and also the sign language vocabulary. I use the American Sign Language and I have learnt the alphabet, numbers, colours, common words, common phrases, and the signs to popular songs.
