Amazing tutor, patient and knowledgable
I’m incredibly grateful for the time and care Leslie took in assessing my child's needs prior to selecting a reading curriculum for her. What stood out most was how genuinely invested Leslie seemed in helping our child succeed. She took the time to explain every part of the process and I felt confident in her ability to deliver reading support for my 6th grader. We always look forward to our weekly lessons! I highly recommend Leslie to any parent looking for someone knowledgeable, patient, and truly skilled at connecting with students.

Reading skills and confidence builder!
Due to Covid, our son was falling behind in some of his reading. We started with Miss Leslie before summer started and continued until school started. My son’s teacher was delighted to see that not only did he not have a summer slump, but instead, he made gains over the summer! He is gaining confidence and knows the “why “behind how to read and spell. Leslie has been instrumental in his success, and we couldn’t be more appreciative!

I cannot say enough about Leslie. She has met and exceeded all of my expectations in a reading tutor for my son, Fletcher. Leslie utilizes multiple sources to implement the Ortin-Gillingham approach to reading instruction with multi-sensory resources and activities. Leslie has the depth and breath of knowledge about reading and phonics instruction that allows me to be confident in her instruction. Her approach is patient, kind and motivating. Leslie has a teacher's heart and I am so glad that our paths crossed. Her work with my son has been invaluable to us.

Leslie has the broad knowledge base and experience we were looking for in a tutor for our 8 year son. However, what makes Leslie an excellent tutor is her ability to sense when he is not fully grasping a concept, when he needs a short break in order to refocus, or a shift in learning material. Her interpersonal skills and ability to relate to her students creates a relationship that is conducive to the learning process. Also, critically important, is the “homework” she gives, specifically targeted to reinforce the introduced concepts. She has encouraged us as well in this process, giving us the tools to help him. We can see the progress he has made as he has begun to choose to read more on his own. Thank you Leslie! Incredible, best in class
Leslie is an incredible Tutor . Warm, friendly, and clearly highly experienced in teaching to read based on science. My first grader could barely read this summer and 6 months later he is on par with his rest of the class. Leslie is so flexible and presents the material in a really fun and dynamic way. I’m so grateful for Leslie and for helping my my son. I highly recommend her. Thank you again!!!

Experienced and organized tutor
Leslie has been helping my 4th grader with her reading for several months. My daughter has made great progress and has essentially closed her reading gap. When searching for a tutor I was looking for someone with advanced literacy training and experience. Leslie certainly has that and more. Leslie is very organized and runs her lessons in a very structured manner using both online tools and printed material. I am grateful for Leslie and the support she is providing my daughter.
