I have recently graduated from a four-year institution with my master's degree in College Student Affairs. Currently, I work in the Financial Aid field at a university alongside previous experiences in a community college setting as well. Previously, I worked for community colleges in various departments such as Financial Aid, Math Tutoring Center, Testing Center, and Adult Basic Education working with various students. I have experience tutoring different students on various levels of math as being in a classroom setting as well. I am able to tutor in the following: Basic Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, College Accuplacer Prep, the GED exam in terms of Mathematics and Science, etc... I have also advocated as a student Peer Educator while at college, which included giving various presentations to students and counseling students to direct them to different education health services. Overall, I decided to get into the education field because I love working with students and seeing them reach their educational goals.

Statistics

Statistics

I taught Statistics to myself using a textbook from my old community college. I work with topics such as frequency tables, histograms, probability, confidence intervals, normal and t distribution, and many other topics. Statistics is all about understanding the logical perspectives which is important to this course.

Homeschool

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is the introduction course freshman year of high school. I have covered many topics such as radicals, quadratic functions, solving with the quadratic formula, and many more concepts. The concepts from middle school algebra build to the algebra 1 freshman class for high school.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I tutor algebra 1 and 2 from linear functions, exponential, quadratic, radicals, and rationals at the basic, intermediate, and advanced level.

Test Preparation

Accuplacer,

Accuplacer

As a former college student, I have taken the Accuplacer entrance exam in terms of the math section to tutor as my strong subject. I can utilize Algebra 1, 2, Geometry, and Precalculus courses from high school to prep students for the entrance exam. Review of scores from different community colleges in New Jersey can assist further what students need as well as breakdown. The breakdown in essence will assist to see where the student falls between remedial versus nonremedial math courses.

Knowledgeable and easy to follow!

Matthew was easy to get in touch with, responded quickly to all our questions. This was especially helpful since it was our first time using WyzAnt. He was on time and made efficient use of the very little time my daughter had to prep for her exam. He covered a wealth of information and was easy to understand. She found his lesson very helpful.
