I’m Michael F., a dedicated and enthusiastic Math tutor with a strong academic and teaching background. I hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics and am currently pursuing my doctorate in Mathematics Education at Montclair State University. My academic journey is rooted in a passion for making math meaningful, engaging, and accessible to all learners.
Over the past two years, I’ve worked with students across a wide range of levels from elementary through college, both in one-on-one settings and small group sessions. My teaching experience spans various formats, including in-person tutoring, online platforms, and classroom assistance. I have supported students preparing for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, GED, and GRE, as well as those navigating course content in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Statistics. I also work with younger learners, introducing foundational concepts through play-based and visual strategies.
My tutoring style is interactive and student-centered. I focus on building understanding, not just memorization. I incorporate tools like gamification, mental math exercises, problem-solving challenges, and real-life examples to make abstract concepts more relatable. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my methods to each learner’s strengths, whether they are visual, logical, or hands-on thinkers. My goal is to create a warm, supportive environment where students can take risks, ask questions, and discover their full potential in math.
